Sewing machines project

Since the local market still uses too many disposable plastic bags for vegetables and fruits, I came up with the idea of having reusable and washable bags made in different sizes and then giving away a few dozen to certain vegetable vendors at the beginning, to find out how big or small the demand is.
Of course, it is also necessary to sensitize customers and make them aware of the environmental problems of single-use plastic bags and packaging. I will make another flyer for this purpose.
So what could be more obvious than to have such environmentally friendly bags produced under fair conditions here in Sangkhlaburi?
The potential of sewing machines is unlimited, even masks, which we are likely to (have to) wear for some time, or other utensils of daily use, as well as various items of clothing can be made by the two mothers.
The sewing machines were delivered three weeks ago and were initially located in the One Sky Center conference room, where the two women are being trained on the machines by Ms. Boo, a Burmese woman living here in Sangkhlaburi and a professional seamstress.
Due to multiple occupancy of the One Sky Center conference room, classes were temporarily moved to Ms. Boo's home, where I was able to get a first look at the progress of the training. It will take a few more weeks of training and routine, but with Mrs. Boo we have an excellent teacher and I am very confident that the two women who are enthusiastic will soon be able to handle the machine and work productively.
Once the training is completed, we and One Sky will of course also provide the two women with textiles and thread at the beginning as a start-up aid.
Support, ideas or donations for this sustainable project are of course very welcome.
